Job Description:

We are seeking a high-performing Business Development Executive to drive growth for our Asset Management division in Lagos. In the competitive Nigerian financial landscape, success requires more than just sales; it requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, a sophisticated approach to relationship management, and an unwavering commitment to regulatory excellence.

Your primary objective will be to expand our Assets Under Management (AUM) by identifying and securing high-value opportunities across retail, corporate, and institutional sectors. If you have a proven track record of selling mutual funds and bespoke portfolio services while navigating the SEC regulatory environment, you are the talent we are looking for.

Requirements:

1. AUM Expansion & Strategic Sales

  • Market Penetration: Identify and pursue new business leads to aggressively grow the firm’s AUM.

  • Segment Strategy: Develop tailored acquisition strategies for High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs), corporate entities, and institutional investors.

  • Investment Advocacy: Deliver expert sales pitches and technical presentations for mutual funds and portfolio management services, ensuring all communication aligns with SEC guidelines.

2. Relationship Stewardship & Financial Advisory

  • Portfolio Consultation: Build and maintain deep-rooted relationships with clients by translating complex market performance into clear, goal-oriented updates.

  • Bespoke Solutions: Conduct financial needs assessments to recommend investment vehicles that align with client risk appetites and long-term objectives.

  • Retention Excellence: Provide proactive after-sales support, ensuring client inquiries are resolved with the professional rigor expected in investment banking.

3. Market Intelligence & Compliance Governance

  • Regulatory Fidelity: Ensure every marketing initiative and client interaction adheres strictly to SEC regulations and internal risk policies.

  • Market Monitoring: Stay ahead of financial market trends, competitor product launches, and macroeconomic shifts in the Nigerian economy.

  • Insight-Driven Growth: Use market research to identify untapped distribution channels and provide the product team with insights for new investment vehicle development.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of core business development or relationship management experience within Asset Management, Investment Banking, or Financial Services.

  • Market Knowledge: Strong command of Nigerian financial markets, investment products, and the SEC regulatory landscape.

Core Competencies

  • Sales Prowess: Proven ability to close high-value deals and manage complex sales cycles.

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret market data and translate it into actionable investment advice for clients.

  • Communication: Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills, comfortable engaging with C-suite executives and HNIs.
