Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Lead - Business Development to serve as our Growth Champion for Owerri and the wider South-Eastern region. This is a high-stakes leadership role responsible for architecting the regional commercial roadmap, managing high-performance teams, and expanding our footprint in the financial services sector.
Based on-site in Owerri, you will be the primary driver of regional ROI. You will balance the creation of quality risk assets with the aggressive marketing of investment products (fixed and tenured funds). If you are a strategic thinker with a proven track record in banking or wealth management and have the local market intelligence to navigate the South-East, we want you to lead our expansion.
Requirements:
1. Regional Strategy & Commercial Leadership
Roadmap Execution: Partner with Executive Management to refine and execute the regional marketing and commercial strategy.
Portfolio Engineering: Create and manage a portfolio of high-quality risk assets while continuously improving the investment bouquet to maximize ROI.
Product Ideation: Lead the conceptualization of new financial products tailored to the unique economic landscape of the South-East.
2. Sales Performance & Investment Growth
Target Achievement: Drive the team to meet and exceed assigned sales targets, specifically focusing on high-value investment products like tenured funds.
Client Advisory: Provide high-level advisory support to HNIs and corporate clients, identifying opportunities to grow their portfolios and increase company revenue.
Market Expansion: Proactively source, onboard, and manage a growing clientele, ensuring high rates of sales retention and customer loyalty.
3. Operational Governance & Team Management
Supervisory Excellence: Supervise, motivate, and mentor the regional team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
Financial Oversight: Analyze regional financial reports to identify trends, address challenges, and implement data-driven solutions.
Compliance & Controls: Ensure all transactions and client interactions adhere to regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience in business development or regional sales leadership.
Sector Knowledge: Significant experience in Banking, Wealth Management, or Financial Services is a distinct advantage.
Regional Context: Deep understanding of the South-Eastern Nigerian market, particularly the Owerri business ecosystem.
