Job Description:

  • Build and maintain strong networks with ship owners, charterers, cargo operators, and other stakeholders within the upstream oil and gas industry.

  • Develop a deep understanding of client organizations, including operational models, strategic priorities, and market positioning, to assess how their activities influence our business and the broader industry landscape.

  • Monitor local and regional news and market developments to identify potential commercial or operational impacts, proactively sharing insights with internal stakeholders.

  • Analyze market research and industry data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing informed recommendations to support TPT’s strategic planning.

  • Conduct thorough analysis of available data and resources to create innovative, client-focused solutions addressing upstream-related inquiries and challenges.

  • Evaluate client enquiries by considering multiple factors—including risk profiles, historical context, and prevailing market trends—to develop tailored and commercially viable solutions.

  • Foster collaborative relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance business frameworks, share insights, and support operational objectives.

  • Support contract negotiations and finalizations, focusing on key terms, pricing structures, and commercially significant clauses; review contracts and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and legal compliance.

  • Perform administrative duties, including regular updates to clients and internal departments, data entry, and clerical assistance.

  • Identify and implement process improvements within the department to enhance efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including advanced Excel), shipping databases, and market analysis tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify operational inefficiencies, optimize processes, and implement effective solutions.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for negotiating with oil and gas stakeholders, marine operators, and industry partners.

  • Strong interpersonal abilities to build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external clients.

  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in contracts, documentation, and reporting.

  • Adaptable problem-solving skills and creative thinking to address unforeseen challenges effectively and meet client expectations.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

  • Resilience and flexibility to navigate the unpredictable dynamics of the maritime and petroleum sectors.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Shipping, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.

  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas or Maritime industry, such as chartering, ship brokering, or shipping operations.

  • Foundational knowledge of the Nigerian oil and gas sector, maritime industry practices, and relevant regulations.

  • Demonstrated experience in contract mediation, logistics management, and building strong client relationships.

  • Self-motivated and driven individual with a strong work ethic, determination, and commitment to achieving results.
