Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Bookkeeper to manage the financial records of our printing, packaging, and branding operations. You will be responsible for the accurate recording of daily transactions, managing accounts payable/receivable, and providing weekly performance insights to management. The ideal candidate excels in job-costing—tracking specific expenses and income per client—to ensure our projects remain profitable. Requirements:
1. Financial Record-Keeping & Job Costing
Daily Ledger Management: Record all daily transactions, including sales, operational expenses, vendor payments, and staff disbursements.
Client-Level Accounting: Track job-related income and expenses per client to determine the exact profitability of branding and packaging projects.
Payroll & Documentation: Update and maintain accurate payroll records and ensure the systematic filing of all financial documentation.
2. Receivables, Payables & Reconciliation
Credit Control: Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring that debtors are followed up on and creditors are settled according to terms.
Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements and digital payment platforms to ensure all records match real-world balances.
Tax Readiness: Organize and provide all necessary supporting documentation to the tax consultant for seasonal filings and compliance.
3. Reporting & Collaboration
Weekly Performance Briefs: Prepare and submit consolidated weekly reports covering sales volumes, expense breakdowns, and aging debtor/creditor lists.
Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with the Operations and Administrative teams to capture data from the production floor for accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Academic Background: HND or BSc. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional History: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
Software Proficiency: Mastery of Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Zoho Books.
Core Competencies
Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and financial reconciliation.
Accounting Principles: Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, accruals, and financial record-keeping.
Reliability: Ability to meet strict weekly deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
Communication: Strong reporting skills to present financial data clearly to non-financial management.
Salary
