Job Description:

  • We are seeking experienced Area Sales Executives with a strong background inedible oil sales to manage and grow our market presence in Lagos, Rivers, and Akure.
  • The successful candidates will be responsible for distributor management, route-to-market execution, sales target achievement, and market intelligence gathering within their assigned territory.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales volume and revenue targets for edible oil products
  • Manage and supervise distributors, wholesalers, and key retailers within assigned territory
  • Develop and execute route-to-market strategies to expand product availability
  • Monitor distributor performance, stock levels, and order patterns
  • Conduct regular field visits to trade outlets to ensure visibility, pricing compliance, and merchandising standards
  • Identify and onboard new distributors and high-volume customers
  • Collect and report market intelligence: competitor activities, pricing trends, consumer preferences
  • Manage trade credit and ensure timely collections within approved limits
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely deliveries
  • Prepare and submit weekly sales reports, journey plans, and expense reports
  • Resolve distributor and customer complaints promptly
  • Train and guide distributor sales representatives on product knowledge and sales techniques

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3 to 6 years of sales experience in the edible oil industry (must have)
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Strong knowledge of the edible oil distribution landscape in Lagos, Rivers, or Ondo State(depending on applied location)
  • Existing relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers in the assigned territory
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic sales reporting
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within territory
  • Residency within or near the assigned territory (Lagos, Port Harcourt, or Akure).

 

Added Advantage:

  • Experience selling packaged edible oils
  • Existing distributor network in the target location
  • Experience with FMCG distribution models (General Trade / Modern Trade)
  • Knowledge of trade marketing and in-store merchandising.
