About Company:
FMR Agency is a progressive talent acquisition, business development, and commercial outsourcing firm dedicated to driving market expansion and operational excellence for leading corporate brands across West Africa. We specialize in deploying high-performing commercial frameworks, technical workforces, and strategic growth campaigns for elite brands within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), logistics, and manufacturing ecosystems. We maintain a high-impact, goal-oriented environment where regional market penetration and robust value-chain partnerships form the bedrock of our commercial success.
Job Description:
We are seeking an energetic, commercially astute, and hands-on Sales Manager to spearhead our regional commercial division from our Kano hub. Operating as the primary engine for market share acquisition and distribution network optimization in Northern Nigeria, you will hold absolute operational accountability for our localized sales numbers—bridging the gap between macro sales strategies and physical, ground-level market distribution.
This position demands a highly resilient team leader with a proven commercial track record within the manufacturing or industrial distribution sector. You will lead, coach, and mobilize a dedicated field sales force, open new wholesale corridors, and manage deep-tier relationships with major regional distributors, open-market traders, and institutional off-takers. Furthermore, you will act as a key operational liaison—coordinating tightly with internal production and logistics units to align product availability with fast-moving market demands.
Requirements:
1. Sales Architecture & Strategic Regional Expansion
Strategy Engineering: Formulate, deploy, and execute targeted regional sales playbooks, pricing structures, and route-to-market strategies tailored to capture Northern Nigeria’s high-volume consumer and industrial pools.
Corridor Creation: Aggressively scout, evaluate, and secure high-value commercial partnerships, corporate accounts, and new distribution channels specifically within the manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial products sector.
Market Intelligence Auditing: Conduct structured field research, tracking localized competitor pricing, parallel import activities, shifts in distributor buying capacity, and regional consumer trends to continuously refine our market edge.
2. Sales Force Leadership & Performance Management
Workforce Mobilization: Lead, mentor, and manage the field sales team—setting crystal-clear daily routes, weekly volume targets, and field execution standards.
Performance Metrics Governance: Monitor individual and team sales metrics, executing structured performance evaluations and pipeline audits to systematically eliminate underperformance.
Field Upskilling: Conduct continuous in-the-field coaching, training sales reps on advanced negotiation, objection handling, structured account tracking, and regional trade dynamics.
3. Distributor Network & Relationship Management
Distributor Engagement: Build, nourish, and defend deep-tier business relationships with key open-market distributors, tier-1 wholesalers, and modern trade partners across the Kano commercial belt.
Credit & Debt Monitoring: Oversee client payment histories, balancing product delivery volumes against active credit terms to ensure zero bad-debt exposure and maximum cash-flow velocity.
4. Supply Chain Synchronization & Analytical Reporting
Logistics Interfacing: Coordinate directly with manufacturing plant supervisors, production managers, and internal logistics dispatch units to guarantee timely, complete, and damage-free product fulfillments.
Management Insights: Compile, analyze, and present detailed weekly and monthly sales volume records, revenue generation data, market variance sheets, and corrective action briefs to the agency's executive desk.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Academic Foundation
Degree Baseline: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Industrial Relations, or a related commercial discipline from an accredited institution.
Experience & Sector Footprint
Domain Longevity: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive, verifiable experience operating as a Sales Supervisor, Area Sales Representative, or Sales Manager.
Manufacturing/FMCG Imperative: Direct, foundational experience driving sales within the manufacturing, beverage production, packaging, or FMCG sectors is highly required. Deep, existing networks with key distributors and wholesalers across Kano and the broader Northern commercial hubs will be treated as a dominant competitive advantage.
