Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Head of Accounts to lead the financial operations for our client in the Real Estate and Construction industry. This is a pivotal role requiring a blend of traditional accounting excellence and project-focused financial strategy.
You will be responsible for the absolute integrity of our financial records, ensuring that every project—from ground-breaking to completion—is financially tracked, audited, and optimized for profitability. If you are a detail-oriented professional with a mastery of Construction Accounting and the ability to provide data-driven insights to senior management, we invite you to lead our accounts department.
Requirements:
1. Core Financial Operations & Governance
Daily Stewardship: Lead day-to-day operations including accounts payable/receivable, complex bank reconciliations, and precise invoicing.
Reporting Excellence: Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets and P&L statements, ensuring total accuracy.
Audit Readiness: Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, ensuring all records comply with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
2. Construction Costing & Analysis
Project Tracking: Monitor project-specific costs (labor, materials, and overheads) to identify variances and trends that impact the bottom line.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the creation of rigorous project budgets and financial forecasts to guide executive decision-making.
Insight Generation: Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable reports that highlight opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
3. Compliance & Process Improvement
Standards Adherence: Ensure all accounting practices align with the latest industry regulations and Nigerian accounting standards.
Systems Optimization: Utilize accounting software and advanced Excel modeling to streamline reporting and reduce manual errors.
Strategic Support: Collaborate with internal project teams to provide the financial visibility needed for high-stakes operational choices.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: B.Sc or HND in Accounting. Progress in ICAN professional papers is a significant advantage.
Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience as an Accountant. Direct experience in Real Estate or Construction is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and modern accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or Odoo).
Core Competencies
Analytical Prowess: Ability to interpret financial variances and solve complex problem sets.
Detail-Oriented: A commitment to "zero-defect" reporting and organizational precision.
Communication: Ability to present financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Location Preference
Applicants must reside around Lekki, Ikate, Jakande, Ajah, or the immediate environs.
