Job Description:
We are seeking a high-precision Accountant to serve as the financial backbone of our expanding real estate firm. In the property sector, where high-value transactions and complex regulatory requirements are the norms, fiscal accuracy is the ultimate safeguard of our investments. This role is designed for a "Numerical Strategist", a detail-oriented professional who can manage the day-to-day books while providing the analytical insights necessary to support multi-million naira property developments and investments.
Your mission is to ensure "Fiscal Absolute." You will be responsible for the entire financial lifecycle: from preparing audit-ready financial statements and managing property-specific ledgers to assisting with the high-stakes forecasting that drives our acquisition strategy. If you possess a "Zero-Error" mindset and the professional grit to ensure 100% compliance with Nigerian tax and real estate regulations, we want you to govern our financial health.
Requirements:
1. Corporate Reporting & Asset Accounting
Financial Stewardship: Prepare and maintain comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that reflect the true health of our property portfolio.
Project Costing: Track and reconcile expenditures for specific real estate developments, ensuring all contractor payments and material costs are accurately allocated.
Ledger Integrity: Manage accounts payable and receivable with surgical precision, ensuring all tenant rentals and vendor obligations are captured in real-time.
2. Strategic Planning & Budgetary Oversight
Budgetary Architecture: Assist leadership in drafting and monitoring annual budgets, identifying potential variances before they impact project timelines.
Investment Forecasting: Provide data-driven support for financial forecasting, helping the team model the potential ROI on new land acquisitions and residential developments.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor liquidity closely to ensure the firm can meet its development milestones and operational overheads without friction.
3. Compliance & Statutory Governance
Tax & Regulatory Filings: Ensure 100% compliance with FIRS/LIRS requirements, including VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), and PAYE remittances.
Audit Readiness: Maintain a meticulously organized digital and physical filing system to support seamless internal and external audits.
Internal Controls: Implement and enforce rigorous internal control protocols to prevent financial leakage and safeguard company assets.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
Experience: Proven experience in a core accounting role. Experience within the Real Estate, Construction, or Asset Management sector is a significant competitive advantage.
Technical Mastery: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or Odoo).
