Job Description:
We are seeking a sophisticated and results-oriented Wealth Officer to anchor our private wealth division in Lagos. In the high-stakes world of asset management, this role is the bridge between market opportunity and client security. Your mission is to cultivate and manage a premier portfolio of high-net-worth (HNW) and institutional clients, delivering bespoke investment strategies that outpace market benchmarks while remaining firmly within regulatory guardrails.
This role is strictly reserved for professionals who have cut their teeth in SEC-registered and licensed asset management firms. You must possess the "regulatory DNA" required to navigate Nigeria’s capital markets and the commercial acumen to lead complex financial conversations with the nation's most discerning investors. Requirements:
1. Strategic Portfolio Architecture
Tailored Advisory: Conduct deep-dive financial assessments to provide bespoke investment advice aligned with the unique risk appetites and long-term goals of HNW individuals and institutions.
Asset Growth: Drive aggressive but sustainable asset acquisition through strategic networking and high-level relationship management.
Performance Optimization: Collaborate with internal research and investment teams to translate market intelligence into portfolio alpha.
2. Regulatory Discipline & Risk Management
Compliance Stewardship: Ensure 100% adherence to SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) regulations, NDPR (Data Protection), and internal risk management frameworks.
Portfolio Monitoring: Proactively monitor market trends and macroeconomic shifts to rebalance and position client portfolios against volatility.
Due Diligence: Maintain the highest standards of transparency in all client communications, ensuring "Suitability Standards" are met for every investment recommendation.
3. Relationship & Market Advocacy
Client Retention: Foster long-term trust through consistent performance reporting, proactive communication, and an intimate understanding of client needs.
Thought Leadership: Act as a market expert, providing clients with insights into capital market movements and emerging investment vehicles.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Sector IQ: 5–7 years of experience exclusively within a registered and licensed asset management firm (Non-negotiable).
Market Mastery: Deep technical understanding of Nigerian capital markets, Fixed Income, Equities, and Alternative Investments.
Track Record: A demonstrable history of significant portfolio growth (AUM growth) and high client retention rates.
Education & Certifications
Academic: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Professional: Active certifications from the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), CFA, or equivalent are highly advantageous and preferred.
Core Competencies
Sophisticated Communication: Ability to manage high-level conversations with institutional boards and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
