Job Description:
Total Data Limited is seeking energetic and customer-focused Van Sales Representatives to spearhead our direct sales and product distribution efforts. This role is a hybrid of sales strategy, physical delivery, and territory management. You will be the face of the brand on the road, responsible for navigating assigned routes to sell products, manage inventory, and build lasting relationships with retail partners.
The ideal candidate is a proactive professional with a strong driving record and a passion for achieving high-volume sales targets in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
Sales & Territory Expansion
Target Achievement: Consistently hit daily, weekly, and monthly sales quotas through active selling and distribution.
Growth: Actively identify and open new retail outlets and sales opportunities within your designated territory.
Direct Delivery: Manage the end-to-end process of selling, offloading, and delivering products directly to the customer.
Merchandising & Inventory Control
Visibility: Ensure products are prominently displayed at customer locations, adhering to planogram standards to maximize consumer appeal.
Stock Management: Maintain accurate van stock levels and perform daily reconciliation to ensure zero discrepancies.
Waste Prevention: Strictly apply FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to manage stock rotation and prevent product expiry or losses.
Financial Accountability & Reporting
Cash Handling: Manage cash and credit transactions, ensuring all payments are collected and receipts are issued accurately.
Intelligence Gathering: Monitor and report on competitor pricing, promotions, and new product launches to give the company a competitive edge.
Documentation: Submit detailed daily reports covering sales volume, customer feedback, and market trends.
Operations & Compliance
Vehicle Care: Maintain the assigned delivery van in excellent working condition, ensuring routine checks and timely servicing.
Safety: Adhere to all company safety standards, traffic regulations, and operational procedures during transit.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
Minimum of OND, Diploma, HND, or equivalent. A Bachelor’s degree is considered a plus.
Experience:
1–2 years of experience in sales, ideally within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.
Minimum of 5 years of driving experience is mandatory.
Licensing:
Must possess a valid Driver’s License (Critical requirement).
Core Competencies:
Negotiation: Ability to persuade retailers and close deals on the spot.
Numerical Ability: Strong basic math skills for cash reconciliation and inventory tracking.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with diverse customer types.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of merchandising, field sales operations, and route optimization.
