TRANSPORT / FACILITY OFFICER AT DAILY NEED DISTRIBUTORS LIMITED | LOGISTICS JOBS IN ABUJA

Abuja, Nigeria | Posted on 09/03/2026

About Company:

Daily Need Distributors Limited is a leading FMCG distributing company in West Africa covering 4 states in North Central Nigeria, with Head Office in Abuja, Nigeria. We have been delivering excellent values for over 26 years of existence. Our experience span through result driven partnerships with multinational, intercontinental and local organizations.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly responsible and technically grounded Transport & Facility Officer to lead our operational logistics and premises management in Idu, Abuja. In an industrial hub, success is defined by "Operational Continuity", the ability to ensure that every vehicle is roadworthy and every utility is functioning without interruption. This role is designed for an "Operational Anchor", a professional with at least 3 years of experience who can blend the "Field Grit" of fleet management with the structural rigor required to maintain a complex facility.

Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Downtime Logistics and Absolute Asset Protection." You will be the primary steward of our mobility and infrastructure: responsible for managing a fleet of trucks, motorcycles, and generators, while serving as the line manager for the driving team. If you possess a "Safety-First Mindset," strong negotiation skills with regulatory bodies (FRSC, VIO, etc.), and the ability to drive manual vehicles, we want you to drive our operational excellence.

Requirements:

1. Fleet Governance & Mobility Orchestration

  • Regulatory Stewardship: Act as the primary Liaison Officer with government agencies to ensure all vehicles (owned or leased) remain legal, insured, and roadworthy according to FRSC regulations.

  • Personnel Leadership: Manage the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of the driving team, ensuring all drivers maintain clean records and adhere to traffic laws.

  • Logistical Coordination: Partner with all Heads of Departments to schedule transport requirements, optimize vehicle movement, and maintain surgical accuracy in vehicle logbooks and fuel usage data.

2. Infrastructure Resilience & Utility Oversight

  • Facility Continuity: Oversee the day-to-day operations of all facility services, ensuring that critical infrastructure—including power (generators), AC systems, and buildings—functions without interruption.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Monitor and enforce strict maintenance schedules for all company assets, moving from "Reactive Repair" to "Proactive Prevention" to minimize business impact.

  • Vendor Management: Supervise external contractors and internal technical staff during installations and repairs, ensuring quality control and cost-efficiency.

3. Asset Protection & Safety Compliance

  • Risk Mitigation: Conduct routine inspections of the premises to identify safety risks or environmental concerns, maintaining a secure and professional workplace.

  • Inventory Integrity: Maintain a detailed and updated inventory of all vehicle components and office equipment, ensuring frequent inspections and protection from misuse.

  • Emergency Response: Act as the first responder to unexpected facility breakdowns or operational disruptions, leading recovery efforts to ensure minimal impact on productivity.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Minimum of a BSc / HND in any discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in transport, logistics, or facility management.

  • Technical Mastery: Must possess a valid driver’s license (not a learner’s permit) and be highly proficient in driving manual vehicles.

Core Competencies

  • Operational Grit: The maturity and responsibility required to manage a diverse team of drivers and mechanics in a high-pressure environment.

  • Communication Mastery: Strong ability to read, write, and negotiate with regulatory personnel and external vendors.

  • Analytical Precision: High attention to detail in documenting vehicle logs, insurance renewals, and maintenance schedules.
