Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team in Lagos. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. Depending on your experience level (Intermediate, Specialist, or Consultant), you will create, update, and manage internal and external-facing technical assets, collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product teams, and potentially drive the overarching documentation strategy for the organization.

Requirements:

• Documentation Development: Create, update, and maintain high-quality technical documentation, user guides, operational manuals, release notes, implementation guides, and process maps.

• Information Gathering: Collaborate closely with cross-functional technical and business teams (including Business Analysts and Product Owners) to extract complex technical details.

• Knowledge Management: Simplify complex technical concepts for business and operational users, support knowledge management, and handle systematic documentation handover activities.

• Governance & Quality Assurance: Ensure absolute documentation consistency, quality, and strict compliance with corporate governance frameworks. Participate in project reviews and documentation audits.

• Repository Management: Maintain version control standards and organize central document repositories.

• Project Support: Simultaneously support multiple projects, delivery initiatives, and quickly onboard into new business and technical domains.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Education & Mandatory Requirements

• Degree: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Design, Business, or a related discipline.

• Advanced Qualifications: A postgraduate degree or relevant professional certifications are considered an advantage.

• NYSC: Must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.

2. Experience Levels

• Intermediate / Specialist / Consultant: 7 to 15+ years of relevant professional experience (depending on the specific tier being applied for).

• Must have a proven track record working within enterprise-scale digital, IT, or technology environments.

3. Core Technical & Process Knowledge

• Methodologies: Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum/Kanban).

• Technical Concepts: Familiarity with software delivery, technical terminology, and architectural considerations (scalability, security, reliability, and performance).

• Standards: Solid understanding of documentation governance, auditability, confidentiality, and data protection requirements. Ability to align with established coding and documentation standards.

• Tools: Familiarity with modern documentation tools, collaboration platforms, and enterprise systems.

4. Soft Skills & Attributes

• Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.

• Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving mindset and high organizational discipline.

• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams.
