Job Description:

  • Provides balanced analytical research by turning raw data into valuable insights that help to drive the Bank’s actions and strategies.
  • Interprets and analyses data from multiple sources to come up with imaginative solutions to problems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop programming in Python, SAS, SQL or similar analytical development tools
  • Maintain knowledge in statistics, mathematics and/or comparable quantitative area of expertise
  • Responsible for collaborating with analysts to facilitate the development and application of advanced analytic strategies and tactics
  • Ascertain and apply strategies to identified business problems and existing organizational processes in order to provide leaders with insightful resources for decision-making and to increase sales, profit, market share, and achieve enterprise goals
  • Establish parameters of ad hoc analyses by setting appropriate timeline and work quality guidelines
  • Develop timely, innovative, and objective analysis which leads to fact-based solutions for strategic business issues
  • Assist in the development of the problem definition and hypothesis formulation process as it relates to the specific business environment
  • Conduct analyses, formulate insights, and summarize and synthesize findings for presentation to line of business management
  • Maintain an understanding of general business trends and requirements for the major area of support, and understand the link between analysis and business impact
  • Utilize Python, SAS, SQL, Power BI or other analytical development tools with large data sets to design analyses and measure key metrics
  • Facilitate development and application of advanced analytic strategies and tactics
  • Support line of business analytical needs with dashboard/report development through Tableau and SAP BO

Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as Gradient Boosted Trees, CNN, RNN LSTM, etc.
  • Knowledge and moderate proficiency in R, Python (scikit learn, pandas, numpy, Jupyter etc.) SAS, SQL, MATLAB, C/C++
  • Experience with data visualization tools ex Power BI, Matplotlib and Seaborn
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized and experienced in leading/managing complex projects, initiatives and development
  • This is an Individual Contributor role.
  • Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Data-oriented personality
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities

Qualifications and Skills:

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor’s degree and Master's Degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
  • Practical experiences in Machine Learning, NLP, Deep Learning (Tensor flow), Statistical Modelling, Quantitative Analysis, Forecasting, Data Visualization.
  • 10 + years working experience as a data scientist or business data analyst, preferably in the financial services industry with at least 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Must possess relevant professional qualifications.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting large-scale or highly regulated financial institution
