Job Description:
Are you a storyteller with a heart for social impact? The Tunji Olowolafe Foundation is seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Officer to own our digital presence. This role goes beyond simple scheduling; we are looking for a gifted writer who can find the story behind our programme outcomes from GOMTECH and Digi-Teach to the Olowolafe Fellows and transform field visits and development milestones into content that builds genuine community. Requirements:
Content & Storytelling: Own the monthly content calendar across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and TikTok. Translate complex programme data and human experiences into compelling, shareable narratives.
Copywriting: Produce high-quality long-form content (LinkedIn articles, op-eds, impact summaries) and platform-specific short-form copy that maintains a consistent, purposeful voice.
Visual Direction: Brief and quality-control graphic designers, photographers, and videographers to ensure all visual output aligns with our brand standards.
Platform Management: Manage our digital presence, ensuring consistent engagement with our target audience of students, educators, donors, and government stakeholders.
Influencer & Creator Relations: Identify and collaborate with creators and influencers in the education and social impact space to extend our reach.
Performance Tracking: Produce monthly reports on reach, engagement, and follower growth, using data-driven insights to refine our digital strategy and paid media spend.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in social media, digital communications, or content creation.
Sector Expertise: Demonstrable experience working within the social impact, education, NGO, or development sector.
Writing Skills: Exceptional ability to craft both long-form and short-form copy with a portfolio that proves your ability to drive engagement.
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Page tools, and basic analytics platforms. Proficient in Canva or similar design tools.
Personal Attributes: Proven ability to manage multiple platforms simultaneously without compromising on voice or quality.
Advantages: Experience in a foundation or university setting, familiarity with the Nigerian EdTech landscape, basic video editing skills, and an existing network of media contacts.
