Job Description:

We are seeking a creative and data-driven Social Media Manager to join our media house in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja. In this role, you will be the digital voice of our brand, responsible for driving audience growth, managing compelling storytelling across platforms, and ensuring our news and editorial content reaches the widest possible audience. This is an ideal position for a digital native who understands the nuances of X, Instagram, and TikTok and knows how to transform editorial content into high-engagement social media assets. Requirements:

• Content Optimization: Adapt articles, videos, and podcasts for platform-specific formats on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok to maximize reach.

• Audience Growth: Develop and execute creative social media strategies to increase brand visibility, follower count, and reader loyalty.

• Digital Storytelling: Manage our digital narrative, ensuring that breaking news and editorial content are presented in a compelling, accurate, and timely manner.

• Analytics & Reporting: Regularly analyze engagement metrics (shares, comments, click-through rates) and refine strategies based on data to increase site traffic.

• Community Engagement: Foster active conversations with our audience, managing comments and feedback to build a vibrant and loyal community.

• Trend Monitoring: Stay ahead of social media trends and digital news cycles to ensure our media house remains a top-of-mind source for information in Abuja and beyond.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience: Proven professional experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content strategy—ideally within a media or editorial environment.

• Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of the algorithms and content best practices for X, Instagram, and TikTok.

• Content Creation: Ability to edit short-form videos and create visually appealing graphics or captions that align with editorial standards.

• Analytical Skills: Proficiency in using social media analytics tools to track performance and generate actionable insights.

• Communication: Exceptional writing and storytelling skills; ability to distill complex news into punchy, shareable content.

• Reliability: A high level of organization and the ability to work effectively under the pressure of news cycles.
