Job Description:
A reputable educational institution in Abuja is seeking a creative and experienced Social/Communications Manager to lead its internal and external communication efforts. In this role, you will be the primary architect of the school’s public image, responsible for building a vibrant online community and ensuring that all stakeholders parents, students, staff, and the public are engaged and informed.
The ideal candidate is a gifted storyteller who can capture the daily life and achievements of the school and translate them into compelling content that strengthens the school’s brand within the FCT and beyond.
Requirements:
Digital Strategy & Content Creation
Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive communication and social media roadmap that aligns with the school’s educational values and enrollment goals.
Multimedia Content: Create high-quality, engaging content (text, photography, and video) that showcases academic achievements, sporting events, and extracurricular activities.
Online Presence: Manage the school’s profiles across all relevant social media platforms, ensuring a consistent brand voice and aesthetic.
Community Management: Monitor digital platforms and respond to inquiries promptly, fostering a positive and responsive online environment.
Strategic Communication & PR
Internal/External Messaging: Draft and distribute official communications, including newsletters, parent announcements, and press releases.
Brand Stewardship: Ensure that all physical and digital collateral maintains a consistent brand image and adheres to the school’s identity guidelines.
Crisis Communication: Act as the first point of contact for managing the school’s reputation and providing clear, accurate information during sensitive situations.
Events & Performance Tracking
Event Promotion: Organize and promote school events, open days, and marketing campaigns to drive engagement and attract prospective families.
Analytics & Reporting: Track engagement metrics and communication performance, providing regular reports to the school leadership with data-backed insights for improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in social media management or corporate communications.
Preferred: Prior experience working within an educational institution or a child-focused organization.
Skills:
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
Proficiency in digital marketing tools and content creation software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate a multi-stakeholder environment (parents, board members, and faculty).
