Job Description:

NUTM is seeking a distinguished Senior Lecturer to provide academic leadership within our MSc Artificial Intelligence program. You will be a key driver in shaping the intellectual rigor of our curriculum, mentoring advanced graduate students, and expanding the university’s research footprint. We are looking for an experienced academic with a significant track record of publication and a passion for advancing AI education to meet the complex demands of the global and African technology sectors.

Requirements:

• Advanced Instruction & Leadership: Deliver high-level courses for postgraduate students and take a lead role in curriculum development to ensure our program remains industry-relevant and academically superior.

• Research Leadership: Direct cutting-edge research projects, secure funding or collaborations where applicable, and maintain a prolific record of publications in high-impact journals and conferences.

• Mentorship: Serve as a primary mentor and supervisor for MSc students, guiding them through complex thesis work, original research, and the transition into advanced industry or doctoral roles.

• Institutional Stewardship: Play an active, high-level role in the academic community through committee leadership, program strategic planning, and university-wide service.

• Industry & Academic Liaison: Represent NUTM within professional AI organizations and maintain strong ties between the university and the broader technology industry.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: A Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a closely related field from a reputable institution.

• Research Track Record: An outstanding, proven record of scholarly publications in top-tier journals and conferences.

• Teaching Experience: Significant, demonstrated experience in teaching and designing curriculum at the postgraduate level in areas such as Advanced Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, NLP & LLM Systems, and AI Infrastructure.

• Supervisory Excellence: A proven history of successful mentorship and supervision of graduate-level students.

• Subject Expertise: Deep knowledge of contemporary AI issues, including the critical intersection of AI and Cybersecurity.

• Soft Skills:
