Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer with a passion for pedagogy to lead our engineering department. This is a pivotal role that combines high-level technical expertise with the art of instruction. You will serve as both a leader to our staff and a mentor to the next generation of maritime professionals, ensuring our curriculum remains rigorous, compliant, and industry-relevant.

Requirements:

• Departmental Leadership: Provide strategic direction for the engineering department, managing staff, resources, and institutional goals.

• Curriculum Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging classroom training sessions. You will be responsible for creating assessments that accurately measure student proficiency.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all course materials and training delivery strictly adhere to STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping) and other relevant maritime regulatory requirements.

• Practical Training Oversight: Supervise hands-on practical sessions, ensuring that students meet the highest industry safety and operational standards.

• Mentorship: Provide career guidance to students and professional development support to junior instructors.

• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the faculty to harmonize training methodologies, ensuring a consistent and high-quality educational experience across all modules.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Certification: Must hold a Chief Engineer certification (Class 1 or 2).

• Teaching Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on classroom teaching experience within a maritime training program.

• Technical Mastery: Deep, practical knowledge of marine engineering principles and international STCW regulations.

• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication abilities, with the capacity to break down complex technical concepts for diverse learner groups.
