Job Description:

  • Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Accountant to lead accounting, finance, and tax engagements while strengthening operational efficiency and client delivery standards.
  • This role involves managing the preparation of financial statements, supervising accounting operations, and delivering timely insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will play a key role in strengthening reporting processes, improving internal controls, and ensuring high-quality financial disclosures.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all reports.
  • Manage and coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities across the finance team.
  • Review general ledger activities, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure data integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements, and internal control policies.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to support business strategy, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to explain financial performance and key variances.
  • Support external audits by preparing required documentation and liaising with auditors.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial reporting processes, systems, and controls.
  • Support tax reporting and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is required
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple reporting cycles.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

Salary

N1,000,000 – N1,500,000 Monthly.
