Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Safety & Security Manager to lead the protection of our people, assets, and facilities in Ikeja. In this dual-focus leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring total compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards while maintaining a robust security framework. You will bridge the gap between technical occupational safety and tactical security management, ensuring that our manufacturing operations remain resilient, secure, and hazard-free.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who can navigate the complexities of industrial hygiene and physical security with equal precision and authority.

Requirements:

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Leadership

• Policy Development: Design, implement, and enforce comprehensive HSE policies tailored specifically to manufacturing and industrial workflows.

• Risk Assessment: Conduct regular site-wide risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and mitigate operational risks.

• Incident Management: Lead the investigation of all workplace accidents or security breaches, maintaining meticulous records and recommending data-driven corrective actions.

• Industrial Hygiene: Oversee standards related to industrial hygiene and occupational health to ensure a safe working environment for all factory personnel.

Security Operations & Asset Protection

• Access Control: Develop and manage rigorous access control protocols to safeguard the facility, raw materials, and finished goods.

• Personnel Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the security guard force, ensuring high standards of vigilance and professional conduct.

• Crisis Response: Establish and oversee emergency response plans, including fire safety, medical emergencies, and security threats.

• Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for coordination with law enforcement agencies and relevant regulatory bodies.

Operational Governance

• Compliance: Ensure the facility meets all national and state regulatory requirements regarding occupational safety and industrial security.

• Training: Facilitate safety drills and security awareness training for staff across all departments.

• Continuous Improvement: Monitor global safety and security trends to recommend upgrades to existing systems and technologies.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Certifications

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Security Management).

• Certifications: Professional HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISPON, IOSH) or security management credentials (e.g., ASIS CPP/PSP) are highly required.

Experience & Technical Skills

• Seniority: Proven experience in a managerial role, specifically within the manufacturing or industrial sector.

• Knowledge Base: Deep understanding of Nigerian occupational safety laws, fire safety codes, and modern security systems (CCTV, Biometrics, Alarms).

• Problem-Solving: Strong ability to analyze complex situations and execute decisive, effective solutions under pressure.
