Job Description:
- Dexterous Applied Training Institute (DATI) is seeking a proactive, highly disciplined HSE Officer, Facilitator & Facility Officer to manage facility operations, lead health and safety compliance, and facilitate safety training programs.
- In this dual-impact role, you will implement DATI’s Health, Safety, and Environment Management System (HSE-MS), lead Hazard Identification & Risk Assessments (HIRA), direct emergency drills, oversee physical facility infrastructure and utilities, and deliver safety training instruction to learners in classroom and practical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Management System (SMS) & HIRA: Implement DATI’s corporate and technical safety frameworks, conduct daily workplace inspections, execute HIRA, and lead daily toolbox briefings.
- Safety Instruction & Facilitation: Deliver technical safety training curricula to DATI learners, maintaining a target of over 80% student pass rate on HSE assessments.
- Incident Investigation & Compliance: Investigate near-misses and accidents using root-cause analysis, enforce regulatory compliance, maintain MSDS records, and close out identified hazards within 48 hours.
- Facility & Utilities Oversight: Manage corporate utilities (power, water, HVAC), waste disposal, routine maintenance, and contract support staff (cleaners, janitors, contracted security) to ensure continuous facility readiness.
- Emergency Preparedness & Audits: Conduct weekly safety audits and execute quarterly emergency response drills (fire, evacuation, spill response).
Requirements:
- Education: Minimum of a B.Sc. or HND in Environmental Sciences, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline. NEBOSH or OSHA certification is required.
- Experience: 3+ years implementing safety management systems, leading HIRA and incident investigations, executing facility management, and delivering safety training.
- Core Skills: HIRA methodology, root-cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, TapRooT), adult learning/instructional delivery, facility maintenance oversight, audit reporting, and emergency response planning.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
