Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Reinsurance Officer to join our team in Lagos. This is a critical role responsible for managing our organization’s risk exposure through strategic reinsurance partnerships and robust policy management. You will oversee the end-to-end reinsurance lifecycle, ensuring that our arrangements are competitive, compliant with regulatory standards, and aligned with our corporate risk appetite. Requirements:

• Risk Management & Policy: Apply organizational policies to process new applications, renewals, and alterations for all relevant business classes.

• Strategic Negotiation: Lead negotiations with reinsurance partners to secure competitive arrangements for new and existing products.

• Compliance & Monitoring: Monitor portfolio adequacy against regulatory requirements and ensure all activities adhere to internal policies and audit trails.

• Financial & Actuarial Support: Generate timely reports for billing and collections, provide actuarial support, and demonstrate deep knowledge of IFRS 17 reporting requirements.

• Portfolio Oversight: Manage and implement the reinsurance framework across all geographies, reviewing monthly accounts and collateral materials to maintain a robust control framework.

• System Development: Support ongoing reinsurance system improvements by conducting thorough user acceptance testing (UAT).

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Degree in Accounting, Insurance, or a related discipline.

• Professional Certification: Membership of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) is mandatory.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar reinsurance role.
