Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with Procurement expertise to join our team in Lagos. This role is pivotal in bridging technical cost-estimation with strategic supply chain management. The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end acquisition of construction materials, heavy plant equipment, and subcontracting services, ensuring that every purchase aligns with project specifications and fiscal goals.

Requirements:
Strategic Procurement: Execute end-to-end sourcing, evaluation, and acquisition of construction materials and plant equipment.
Contract Management: Draft, negotiate, and administer legally binding Supply Contracts and Subcontract Agreements, utilizing industry-standard frameworks (JCT, FIDIC, NEC, or local Nigerian construction law variations).
Cost Control & Value Engineering: Identify and implement value-engineering opportunities to reduce project costs while maintaining structural integrity and design intent.
Budget Oversight: Maintain a robust project procurement cost-tracker, mapping actual expenditure against baseline budgets to mitigate overruns.
Variation Order Management: Manage and validate variation orders submitted by subcontractors or the site team to ensure pricing accuracy and scope compliance.
Payment Verification: Review interim payment applications, cross-referencing work completion against site progress before final disbursement.
Market Analysis: Track market trends for volatile raw materials (steel, cement, copper) to strategically time bulk purchases and secure cost-effective pricing.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Procurement Officer, or Cost Engineer within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of construction law and contract administration (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT).
Analytical mindset with advanced proficiency in cost-estimation and project budgeting.
Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of managing supplier and subcontractor relationships.
Deep knowledge of the Nigerian construction market and supply chain dynamics.
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Salary
