Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality in the factory and meet quality targets.

  • Take full responsibility for people, machinery, and the identification/elimination of quality losses and problems in the department.

  • Grow your team’s capabilities and coordinate departmental activities in line with corporate standards, local requirements, and ISO standards.

  • Report directly to the plant manager, with dotted line responsibility to corporate quality.

 

How You Will Contribute

  • Ensure all factory quality objectives, goals, and targets (including regional and global commitments) are met.

  • Develop and track the department’s budget, while eliminating losses.

  • Lead regular plan-do-act-check assessments to plan, execute, review, and adjust actions to meet targets.

  • Enforce strict adherence to all relevant laws, food safety quality standards, and consumer requirements for all manufactured products.

  • Manage internal and external crisis situations in ways that uphold the company’s image, policies, and business objectives.

  • Recruit and structure the department to ensure sufficient resources for achieving plant objectives.

  • Set and evaluate performance goals for team members.

  • Coach and mentor team members to build capability and performance.

Requirements:

 

  • Quality Strategy & Policy

    • Develop and lead the site Quality Strategy to implement a Quality and Food Safety Management policy that ensures high-quality and safe product manufacturing.

    • Lead the site Quality Policy Compliance strategy to align with Mondelez Quality policies, ensuring accountability for compliance at all times.

    • Drive Consumer Inspired Quality for the plant using IL6S principles, aiming for Zero Defects through advanced problem-solving and process control.

  • Quality Systems & Compliance

    • Manage, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Chain Management System to meet Mondelez and legal requirements.

    • Maintain and review the Document Control System to ensure corporate policy compliance and support ISO certification.

    • Oversee the HACCP Program, including verification, validation, plan reviews, and food safety risk assessments.

    • Manage and improve the Internal Audit Program and traceability exercises to verify QCMS effectiveness.

  • Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

    • Conduct root cause analysis for issues and implement preventive and corrective actions internally and across the supply chain.

    • Investigate consumer and customer complaints, ensuring continuous improvement actions are executed.

  • External Engagement & Audits

    • Serve as the plant’s local contact for market quality issues, emergencies, and regional quality communications.

    • Lead external and global Mondelez Quality audits, support accreditations, and host external visits (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, FSSC 22000, PAS 96, MANCAP).

    • Build CTQ (Critical to Quality) visibility and quality control plans aligned with specifications.

  • Project & Change Control

    • Provide quality expertise in the Change Control process, ensuring sign-off for projects impacting site quality.

  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Manage, develop, and engage the site Quality team, building capability in all quality-related functions (QA, Food Safety, Sanitation, Pest Management, Labs, Consumer Science).

    • Define and deliver quality training, capability-building, and coaching at all organizational levels.

    • Coordinate and manage cross-functional actions for quality and food safety, ensuring consistent implementation.

  • Crisis Management & Special Situations

    • Establish communication protocols and timelines for crisis situations.

    • Support the Special Situation Management Team (SSMT) and follow up on crisis management actions.

  • Budget & Planning

    • Plan and track investment plans and budgets for the quality department, preparing allocation requests as needed.

  • Ethics & Compliance

    • Lead ethically, model compliant behavior, and maintain a safe environment for employees to speak up without fear of retaliation.

    • Ensure employees understand and participate in the compliance program.

  • IL6S & High-Performance Systems

    • Lead engagement and capability building to embed IL6S High Performing Work System principles.

  • Trade & Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Coordinate trade quality visits with Sales and CS&L to monitor product performance and promote proper handling and warehousing practices.

    • Liaise with R&D, Procurement, CS&L, Marketing, Sales, and HR to achieve business goals.

    • Act as Secretary to the SSMT, working with the Plant Manager (Chairman).

 

Education & Certifications

  • University Degree in a Science/Technology-based discipline.

  • 5–10 years functional experience in Quality (preferably manufacturing) with strong process improvement focus.

  • In-depth knowledge of corporate manuals and ISO standards.

  • Relevant experience (operations, quality and/or R&D)
  • Project management and managing multiple priorities
  • Commercial strategy process, product/package development process, food safety, plant commercialization, ingredient and package technology and training and coaching technical material
  • Communicating effectively and leading cross-functional teams
  • Statistical processes and problem-solving techniques
  • Working with external manufacturing suppliers to ensure compliance to our policies and procedures and technical vendors to support compliance
  • Working with customers on quality related issues
