Job Description:
- The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading the QA function across all production factories, ensuring consistent delivery of safe, high-quality products in compliance with regulatory, customer, and global food safety standards.
- The role provides leadership in quality systems, food safety management, compliance, and continuous improvement across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all Quality Assurance activities across all production lines (seasoning, cocoa, chocolate, beverage powder, custard, and related products).
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the QA team across all factories.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, ISO standards).
- Ensure raw materials and packaging materials meet approved quality specifications before use.
- Oversee in-process quality control and finished product release processes.
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures, SOPs, and inspection standards.
- Ensure audit readiness for internal, regulatory, customer, and certification audits.
- Lead internal audits, GMP inspections, and food safety compliance activities.
- Investigate customer complaints, non-conformances, and quality incidents; drive CAPA implementation.
- Conduct root cause analysis and lead problem-solving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (NAFDAC, SON, FCCPC, etc.).
- Oversee laboratory operations, product testing, retention samples, and release systems.
- Drive hygiene, sanitation, and environmental monitoring programs across all sites.
- Lead risk assessments including HACCP reviews and food safety hazard analysis.
- Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and quality record management.
- Partner with Production, Engineering, Procurement, Warehouse, and HSE teams to improve quality performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, waste, and customer complaints.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports and management reviews.
- Ensure staff training on GMP, hygiene, and food safety systems.
- Promote a strong food safety and quality culture across all operations.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. / HND in Food Science & Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or related discipline.
- 7–10 years FMCG food manufacturing experience, including leadership in QA and food safety systems.
- Professional certifications in FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP (added advantage).
- Strong knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
- Experience in audit management and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of FMCG manufacturing and quality systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
