About Company:
BGE (Nigeria) Solar FZE is a leading enterprise in the new energy photovoltaic cell industry, committed to driving sustainable development and innovation. As we expand our global footprint, we are seeking exceptional local talent in Nigeria to join our dynamic team.
Job Description:
We are seeking a high-intelligence and socially agile Public Affairs Officer to anchor our government relations and external communication efforts. In the Nigerian regulatory landscape, success is defined by "Institutional Fluidity", the ability to navigate complex bureaucratic channels, such as NEPZA, to secure vital operational approvals while maintaining a flawless public reputation. This role is designed for a "Diplomatic Strategist" with 2–5 years of experience who can blend "Rigorous Policy Monitoring" with the "Interpersonal Grit" required to engage with federal agencies, state departments, and local communities.
Your mission is to ensure "Uninterrupted Compliance and Brand Protection." You will be the primary bridge between our operations and the external world: responsible for obtaining licenses, managing media relations, and acting as a trusted advisor to management on local policy shifts. If you possess "Exceptional Ethical Integrity," fluency in English and Yoruba, and a deep understanding of the Nigerian public sector, we want you to safeguard our commercial interests.
Requirements:
1. Government Liaison & Regulatory Engineering
NEPZA & Agency Mastery: Serve as the primary point of contact for relevant government agencies, including the Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA), to secure company qualifications, licenses, and vital documents like Certificates of Origin.
Licensing Sovereignty: Proactively manage the lifecycle of corporate approvals and documents, ensuring the company remains in a state of perpetual regulatory readiness.
Bureaucratic Diplomacy: Build and maintain high-value working relationships within federal and state departments to promote the company’s strategic interests.
2. Reputational Stewardship & Media Relations
Public Opinion Monitoring: Actively track media narratives and public sentiment, implementing initiatives that enhance and protect the company’s regional reputation.
External Communications: Manage media relations and serve as a professional representative for the brand in public forums.
Community Engagement: Lead community relations initiatives and public engagement activities to foster a positive "Social License to Operate" within local territories.
3. Policy Analysis & Compliance Intelligence
Trend Surveillance: Monitor local policy and regulatory developments, conducting deep-dive impact assessments on current and future operations.
Strategic Advisory: Provide management with timely, actionable guidance and recommendations on compliance strategies and potential regulatory risks.
Event Orchestration: Organize and support corporate events and public engagement activities that align with the company’s public affairs objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Affairs, International Relations, Political Science, or a related technical field.
Experience: 2–5 years of proven success in government liaison, public affairs, or public relations.
Linguistic Mastery: Full fluency in English and Yoruba (or other local languages) is essential for effective stakeholder engagement.
Core Competencies
Diplomatic Grit: Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders—from government officials to community leaders.
Professional Integrity: A high level of professional ethics and a strong moral character.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex regulatory texts and translate them into operational guidance.
