ECI work across Health/ Nutrition, Education, Food Security and livelihood, Wash, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Peace building Conflict Resolution, Climate change Adaptation and Environmental Sustainability, Protection, with strong focus on sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). El-Ezhar Care Initiative is in consortium with Murmushi people’s Development (MPDF) Foundation as the lead partner and Clear View Integrity Initiative (CVIF) to implement an integrated UNICEF supported programme across six LGAs of Adamawa State: Gombi, Hong, Mubi North, Mubi South, Michika ad Madagali.
Job Description:
- Manage ongoing project , ensuring timely and quality delivery in line with work plan, M&E frameworks, and expenditure plans.
- Support regular monitoring, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and ensuring alignment with programme objectives.
- Coordinate with partners to ensure timely quaterly programme reports meet donor requirement.
- Work closely with partners in the identification of gaps in child protection and education services Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors and partners, ensuring alignment with the organization mission and objectives
- Develop program plans, schedules, and budgets, and obtain approval from stakeholders
- Established and maintain governance structures, processes, and reporting mechanisms to monitor program progress and performance
- Mange stakeholders relationships and expectations, ensuring alignment with program objectives and priorities. Track program metrics and key performance indicators (KPLs) , analyzing data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
- Any other task assigned
Technical:
- Ensure quality and timely field level implimentation of the nutrition programm
- Draft supervision guidelines to ensure quaklity delivery of outpatient treatments for SAM and MAM in children under five years of age
- Mentor and coach the nutrition team in treatment protocols and ensuring that implementation is in accordance with national guidelines
- Support regular nutrition programm evaluations , rapid assessment identifying needs and making practical recommendations to address them.
- Facilitate the conducting of focus group discussions with relevant communities for feedback on programme activities.
Project management:
- Coordinate with the M&E to review nutrition reporting indicators and reporting tools
- Coordinate with the logistic officer to improve supply chain management and accountability for nutrition supply
- Ensure that implementation of nutrition activities is well coordinated in accordance with donor requirement and ECI policies.
- Timely submission of accurate and complete monthly accountancy report to coordinators
Reprensentation:
- Participate in relevant coordinated meetings , collaborate and build strong relationships with other implementing partners / stakeholders.
- Support local programme supervision visits from donor, Moh or relevant authourities.
Requirements:
- Master’s or Bsc degree in nutrition, public health, international development or food science or related fields
- Good knowledge and understanding of DO NO HARM principles and established international child protection standards (especially UNICEF)
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 to 6 yearsof progressive field base experience in managing moderately to highly complex nutrition programs, particularly in developing or emergency settings.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility
- Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
- Ability to read and write in both English and others languages appropriately in Northeast Nigeria
- Skills in training and management
- Proficiency in the use of computers (MS Word, Excel, Power Point Presentation).
- Should be multitasking and can work with little or no supervision.
- Ability to work as part of a team and to provide quality and timely support and services.
- Professionalism and flexible attitude to work
- Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to adjust work schedules and priorities.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of humanitarian sector/ nutrition project.
- Ability to in aligning environment with few support services
- Experience working with donor funded project
- Ability to speak English fluently, Hausa and other local languages desirable.
- Familiarity with financial management and reporting requirements of major donors.
- Excellent English written, verbal communication and report writing skillsto manage relationship in potential tense situations.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to diverse contexts.
Organizational Requirement:
- The post holder will, at all times, carry out his/her responsibilities with the utmost respect for the protection of children by the ECI’s Child and Vulnerable Person/persons Safeguarding Policy.
- The post holder will be required to respect ethnic and racial differences during and after work hours.
- The post holder will report to the PROGRAM MANAGER
- To be committed to and share in the outworking of ECI’s Vision, Mission and Values
- The post holder will be expected to behave according to ECI’s ‘Code of Conduct’
Safeguarding and Protection:
- Efforts will be made to ensure adequate exclusion of minors, young and other vulnerable adults who are not legally authorized to work from the scheme to ensure that the project is devoid of litigationand court injunctions.
