Job Description:
We are seeking a technically proficient and bilingual Production Supervisor to anchor our manufacturing operations in Kano. In the fast-moving food production sector, success is defined by "Operational Consistency", the ability to harmonize machine startup, raw material flow, and hourly output targets into a single, high-efficiency engine. This role is designed for a "Floor Leader" with 3 years of experience in the food industry who can blend "Mechanical Engineering Acumen" with the "Cultural Diplomacy" (English & Hausa) required to lead diverse teams in Northern Nigeria.
Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Defect Output and Optimized Shift Throughput." You will be the primary steward of the production floor: responsible for real-time troubleshooting, Daily Shift Reporting (DSR) in Excel, and enforcing the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. If you possess "Analytical Precision," a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and the confidence to manage complex production lines, we want you to drive our operational excellence at NutriK.
Requirements:
1. Startup Governance & Material Stewardship
Technical Readiness: Oversee the successful startup and operation of production equipment, verifying all startup data for 100% accuracy and conformity before the line begins.
Material Integrity: Request and inspect raw and packaging materials, meticulously checking batch numbers, status origins, and pallet identification to ensure order feasibility.
Stock Reconciliation: Verify the alignment between physical production stock and digital records to prevent inventory leakage and ensure transparent material movement.
2. Flow Optimization & KPI Management
Throughput Monitoring: Monitor and drive hourly production targets for both blending and packaging lines to ensure the shift plan is met without compromise.
Troubleshooting Leadership: Resolve shift-related abnormalities, ranging from raw material losses to equipment malfunctions, minimizing downtime through rapid intervention.
Digital Reporting: Maintain high-fidelity Daily Shift Reports (DSR) using MS Excel, tracking KPIs to provide management with actionable data on shift performance.
3. Quality Assurance & Workforce Leadership
Sanitation Governance: Enforce strict compliance with production rules, safety standards, and organizational cleanliness across all lines.
Asset Verification: Personally inspect all finished product pallets for quality and accuracy before authorizing their transfer to the warehouse.
Team Development: Evaluate new operators, provide constructive feedback, and lead team meetings in both English and Hausa to ensure clear communication of targets and safety protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in the food industry, specifically in a supervisory or related leadership role.
Linguistic Mastery: Fluency in English and Hausa is essential for effective communication on the Kano production floor.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel (for DSR), MS Word, and Outlook.
Core Competencies
Leadership Grit: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate production staff under pressure.
Problem-Solving Acumen: Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical and material issues in real-time.
Reporting Accuracy: Meticulous attention to detail in documenting production data and performance metrics.
