Job Description:
We are seeking a high-integrity and commercially astute Procurement Officer to anchor our supply chain operations in Abuja. In a global-standard educational environment, success is defined by "Value Engineering", the ability to harmonize high-quality resource acquisition with aggressive cost-optimization strategies. This role is designed for a "Sourcing Architect" who can blend "Market Intelligence" with the "Organizational Discipline" required to manage vendor relationships, school supplies, and facility infrastructure requirements.
Requirements:
1. Strategic Sourcing & Market Intelligence
Vendor Diplomacy: Identify, evaluate, and manage a high-fidelity network of suppliers to ensure the consistent delivery of school resources and services.
Value Architecture: Conduct regular market surveys and price analyses to ensure the institution achieves the highest possible Return on Investment (ROI) for all expenditures.
Contract Governance: Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with external partners to safeguard institutional interests.
2. Supply Chain Orchestration & Inventory
Procurement Lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from initial requisition and purchase order (PO) issuance to final delivery and quality inspection.
Inventory Stewardship: Collaborate with department heads to forecast resource needs, preventing both stock-outs of critical supplies and wasteful over-ordering.
Logistics Oversight: Coordinate the seamless delivery of goods to the Abuja campus, ensuring all items meet the "Global-Standard" quality requirements before acceptance.
3. Fiscal Compliance & Documentation
Audit Readiness: Maintain a "Source of Truth" database for all procurement activities, ensuring meticulous filing of invoices, receipts, and competitive bidding documents.
Budget Alignment: Ensure all procurement activities operate strictly within approved departmental budgets and institutional financial policies.
Ethical Governance: Promote a high level of responsibility and transparency, ensuring a "Zero-Conflict of Interest" procurement environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Relevant qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in a procurement role within a School or Corporate environment.
Certifications: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPS or NIM) are highly desirable.
Core Competencies
Negotiation Grit: Exceptional ability to drive hard bargains while maintaining healthy long-term partnerships.
Organizational Discipline: A meticulous mindset for managing complex purchase orders and multi-departmental needs.
Communication Power: Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork with both academic and non-academic staff.
