Job Description:

As the Procurement Officer, you will be the backbone of our client’s restaurant’s supply chain. Your primary mission is to ensure they have the highest quality ingredients and supplies at the best possible prices, ensuring the kitchen never runs out of what it needs to serve her guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and vet reliable suppliers for fresh produce, meats, dry goods, and beverages. Maintain strong relationships to ensure priority service.
• Place daily and weekly orders based on inventory levels and kitchen requirements.
• Negotiate pricing and contracts to stay within budget without compromising on quality. Regularly compare market prices to ensure we are getting the best deal.
• Inspect all incoming deliveries for freshness, correct weight, and quality standards. Manage returns or credits for sub-par items.
•  Conduct regular stock takes and work closely with the Head Chef to minimize food waste and manage \"First In, First Out\" (FIFO) rotation.
• Maintain accurate records of invoices, delivery notes, and inventory logs for the accounting team.

Requirements:

• 1–2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within the hospitality or food & beverage industry.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and different types of seasonal produce/ingredients.
• Strong communication skills with a knack for getting the best value for money.
• Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple delivery schedules simultaneously.
• Basic proficiency in Excel or restaurant management/inventory software.
