Job Description:
We are seeking a high-integrity and commercially astute Procurement Officer to anchor our supply chain operations. In a competitive production environment, success is defined by "Value Engineering" the ability to secure high-quality inputs at optimal costs while ensuring the seamless availability of materials. This role is designed for a "Sourcing Strategist" with at least 3 years of experience who can blend "Negotiation Mastery" with the "Logistical Grit" required to manage complex inventory cycles and diverse supplier relationships.
Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Lag Material Availability and Continuous Cost Optimization." You will be the primary steward of the procurement pipeline: responsible for executing purchasing strategies, maintaining a high-fidelity supplier database, and ensuring 100% compliance with internal governance policies. If you possess "Analytical Problem-Solving Skills," are certified by CIPS or CISCM, and have a proven track record in supply chain efficiency, we want you to drive our operational excellence.
Requirements:
1. Strategic Sourcing & Relationship Management
Supplier Intelligence: Evaluate and onboard new suppliers based on rigorous value, quality, and delivery benchmarks, while maintaining a comprehensive Preferred Supplier List.
Negotiation Governance: Develop and execute purchasing strategies that leverage market trends to secure "Best Buy" outcomes without compromising quality.
Liaison Excellence: Serve as the critical bridge between internal departments and external vendors, coordinating the entire lifecycle from requisition to final disbursement.
2. Inventory Velocity & Storage Optimization
Stock Stewardship: Continuously monitor inventory levels to prevent production bottlenecks, ensuring that materials are available exactly when needed.
Warehouse Intelligence: Optimize storage layouts to ensure materials are easily identified and accessible, reducing retrieval times and improving physical inventory counts.
Project Procurement: Lead project-specific sourcing activities, ensuring all materials align with strictly defined budgets and technical specifications.
3. Compliance & Data Governance
Audit-Ready Records: Maintain accurate, up-to-date procurement logs and expenditure reports, leveraging digital tools to track every Naira spent.
Policy Enforcement: Act as the guardian of procurement integrity, ensuring all activities strictly adhere to organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Risk Mitigation: Identify potential supply chain risks and implement proactive measures to ensure business continuity during market fluctuations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in procurement or supply chain operations.
Technical Mastery: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and specialized Procurement/ERP software for high-fidelity reporting.
Core Competencies
Negotiation Grit: Advanced ability to manage complex contract negotiations and secure favorable terms.
Analytical Prowess: Strong problem-solving capabilities to navigate supply chain complexities and logistics risks.
