PROCUREMENT MANAGER AT SAMSUNG HEAVY INDUSTRIES NIGERIA (SHIN)

Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria (SHIN) is a key player in Nigeria's oil and gas and maritime industries, serving as the prime African subsidiary of the global shipbuilding giant, Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) of Korea. Established in August 2011, SHIN has a fabrication and integration yard in Lagos. This facility is notable as Africa's first-ever and only Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) integration yard.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

• Lead end-to-end procurement processes for fabrication-related materials and services, includingsteel, piping, painting materials, and cathodic protection systems, consumables and etc.
• Manage subcontractor engagements for fabrication-related scopes such asNDT, weighing, load-out, hydrotesting, and other specialized services
• Provideestimation support during bidding phases, ensuring accurate cost forecasting and sourcing strategies aligned with project requirements
• Actively participate inproject execution procurement activities, from RFQ issuance to contract finalization and delivery coordination
• Ensure RFQs are not merely transmitted butfully understood and analyzed, enabling precise scope definition and supplier alignment
• Ensure full compliance withNCDMB (Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board)requirements in all procurement and subcontracting activities
• Evaluate and negotiate contracts, ensuring alignment withtaxation policiesand cost optimization strategies
• Maintain vendor relationships and develop a reliable supplier base aligned with project timelines and quality standards
• Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, and risk assessments for management review.

Requirements:

• Interested candidates should possess relevant qualifications with Marine / Fabrication & Construction Industry experience.
• Must have excellent Microsoft office suite skill (Word, PowerPoint & Excel), most especially Microsoft excel.
