We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

  • The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and managing all sourcing and procurement activities for Amo Byng Nig Ltd, ensuring uninterrupted supply of raw materials (e.g., maize, soya, additives, concentrates), packaging materials, and services at optimal cost and quality.
  • The role ensures compliance with company policies, builds strong supplier networks, and supports operational efficiency of the feed mill through strategic procurement practices.

Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Management:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that support the feed mill’s production goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with reliable suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and services.
  • Maintain supplier relationships to ensure consistency, reliability, and favorable terms.
  • Continuously monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of agricultural commodities.

Cost & Budget Control:

  • Ensure procurement of materials at the most competitive cost without compromising quality.
  • Develop and monitor procurement budgets to ensure cost savings and value optimization.
  • Provide cost analysis and forecasts to support management decision-making.

Inventory & Supply Assurance:

  • Work closely with the inventory and production teams to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Anticipate raw material shortages and proactively source alternatives to prevent production downtime.
  • Implement effective procurement planning and scheduling to align with production demands.

Policy, Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, regulatory standards, and ethical practices.
  • Manage procurement risks, including supply disruptions, price volatility, and quality issues.
  • Maintain transparent documentation and records of all procurement processes.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team for high performance.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Production, Logistics, and Quality Assurance teams for seamless operations.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, integrity, and efficiency within the procurement unit.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Agriculture, or related field.
  • 7 – 10 years experience in procurement, with at least 3 – 4 years in a managerial role (preferably in feed mill, FMCG, agribusiness, or manufacturing).
  • Membership or certification in procurement is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural commodity markets, logistics, and supplier networks.
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
