We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

Strategic Planning and Development:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the fund management department in alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the organisation.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and expansion of the fund offerings, considering market trends, client needs, and regulatory requirements.

Fund Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of investment funds, including asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management.
  • Monitor the performance of the funds against benchmarks and objectives, and make adjustments as necessary to optimize returns and manage risk.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify investment opportunities and develop investment strategies.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of fund managers, analysts, and other professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging creativity and excellence in fund management practices.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with institutional and individual clients, understanding their investment objectives, risk tolerance, and preferences.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates on fund performance, investment strategies, and market insights, and address any inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures governing the management of investment funds.
  • Implement robust risk management practices to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with fund management activities.

Performance Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to the Management, providing insights into fund performance, investment decisions, and market outlook.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of investment performance, attribution, and risk factors to identify areas for improvement and inform future investment decisions.

Market Research and Strategy:

  • Stay abreast of market developments, economic trends, and industry best practices in fund management, leveraging insights to inform investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation and competitive advantage in the asset management industry.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate effectively with other departments within the organisation, such as sales and marketing, operations, and legal/compliance, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of fund management activities.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management and key stakeholders to provide updates on fund performance, strategic initiatives, and significant developments impacting the business.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the fund management department, seeking feedback from stakeholders, monitoring industry trends, and implementing enhancements to processes, systems, and methodologies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • First degree from a reputable University
  • Minimum of Eight(8) years’ working experience in a Treasury Department of a Bank, Sales & Marketing Unit of a Financial Institution or a proven relevant/ cognate working experience in a similar role of a Financial Service Company.
  • Possession of a higher degree like an MBA or Master’s Degree and/or a relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Experienced and result-oriented in mobilization of funds and driving of liquidity, introduction of new businesses to ensure steady and continuous growth of assets under management (AUM).
  • Possession of strong business contacts and a proven ability to initiate business relationships to ensure strategic driving of sizeable transactions and efficiently close deals in record time in order to meet targeted financial liquidity goals/objectives.
  • Ensure effective relationship management of clients and accounts under management for repeat business and provision of referrals.
  • Capacity to increase business capacity by ensuring continuous, aggressive and effective marketing of various money market/asset management products and services to existing and potential corporate clients – cutting across equities, fixed income, money market, real estate, structured products and other alternative asset financial instruments.
  • Strong business presentation and effective communication skills, and proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint e.t.c.
  • Proactiveand be of a high level of integrity.

Salary

N1,000,000 - N1,500,000 Monthly
