Job Description:

We are seeking a high-velocity and naturally charismatic Pidgin English Podcast Host (Intern) to anchor our digital audio and video presence in Lagos (Hybrid). In the modern Nigerian media landscape, success is defined by "Vernacular Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize complex, formal topics with the clinical precision required for simple, relatable, and authentic Naija Pidgin conversations. This role is designed for a "Narrative Alchemist" (Recent Graduate or Entry-Level Talent) who can blend "Creative Grit" (conducting street-style interviews and reels) with the "Authentic Agility" required to drive inspiring Nigerian stories that reflect the Goodnews Naija brand voice.

Requirements:

1. Narrative Orchestration & Vernacular Logic

• Linguistic Sovereignty: Host podcast episodes fully or partly in Naija Pidgin, ensuring the delivery is a "Source of Authenticity" that never feels forced or scripted.

• Translation Architecture: Translate complex or formal global and local topics into high-fidelity, "Street-Legal" Pidgin conversations that the everyday Nigerian can connect with.

• Interview Diplomacy: Conduct engaging, high-tempo interviews with diverse guests, acting as the primary "Source of Energy" to extract inspiring and uplifting stories.

2. Multi-Platform Presence & Creative Grit

• Short-Form Sovereignty: Record high-impact reels, clips, and street-style interviews, ensuring the brand’s "Visual Identity" is as strong as its audio presence.

• Brand Advocacy: Represent the Goodnews Naija voice across all audio and video formats, maintaining a "Source of Consistency" in personality and humor.

• Brainstorming Logic: Participate synchronously in content planning and brainstorming sessions, providing the "Creative Foundation" for episode direction and viral segments.

3. Audience Engagement & Personality Governance

• Storytelling Sovereignty: Maintain strong audience retention through elite storytelling, humor, and a "Natural Connection" with the listeners' experiences.

• Vibe Stewardship: Bring infectious energy and authenticity to every recording session, ensuring the podcast remains a "Source of Positivity" in the Nigerian digital space.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Mass Communication, Theater Arts, English, or a related field (0–1 years of experience).

• Linguistic Mastery: Must be Fluent in Naija Pidgin English (natural, effortless, and relatable).

• Location: Must be based in Lagos for hybrid recording sessions and field assignments.
