Job Description:
We are seeking a highly professional and licensed Superintendent Pharmacist to lead the clinical and operational heart of our neighborhood pharmacy and supermarket. In this role, you are more than a dispenser; you are a frontline healthcare provider and a strategic lead responsible for the health of our community and the integrity of our pharmacy operations.
Your mission is to provide world-class pharmaceutical care—from accurate dispensing and patient clerking to conducting vital health screenings—while ensuring 100% regulatory compliance with the PCN and NAFDAC. You will serve as the technical lead, supervising a dedicated team of technicians and interns to ensure every customer receives expert advice and reliable service. If you have 2–5 years of post-NYSC experience and a passion for patient-centered care, we invite you to lead our clinical team.
Requirements:
1. Pharmaceutical Care & Clinical Services
Clinical Excellence: Oversee the accurate dispensing of prescription and OTC medications, ensuring rigorous checks against drug-drug interactions and contraindications.
Point-of-Care Testing: Lead medical services including blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar checks, and temperature measurements to support community wellness.
Patient Clerking & Counseling: Provide deep-dive medication counseling and monitoring of drug therapies, intervening proactively to manage potential side effects.
2. Regulatory Governance & Operational Integrity
Compliance Stewardship: Ensure the pharmacy operates in strict accordance with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) and NAFDAC regulations, maintaining all necessary legal documentation and records of controlled substances.
Inventory & Quality Control: Implement a "zero-expiry" mindset by monitoring stock levels, ensuring proper storage conditions (cold chain management), and timely removal of damaged inventory.
Managing Editor of Records: Maintain meticulous patient medication records and prepare periodic regulatory reports for management and external authorities.
3. Leadership & Community Growth
Team Mentorship: Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and interns, fostering a culture of professional development and operational discipline.
Community Outreach: Design and participate in health outreach and wellness programs that position the pharmacy as a trusted community health resource.
Business Synergy: Collaborate with the supermarket management team to ensure a seamless customer experience and promote high-value pharmaceutical services.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D).
Licensing: Current license to practice as a Pharmacist in Nigeria (Annual PCN registration is mandatory).
Experience: 2–5 years of post-NYSC experience in a busy community or retail pharmacy setting.
Core Competencies
Clinical IQ: Strong, up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical science, drug therapy, and NAFDAC/PCN guidelines.
Soft Skills: Exceptional counseling, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to explain complex medical information to patients clearly.
Leadership: Proven ability to supervise and motivate a technical support team.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Pharmacy Management Software (PMS) and basic Microsoft Office tools.
