Through community building, advocacy, evidence-based research, empowerment, educational and informational resources on intersex-related issues to the public, partners, stakeholders, and our community.

Job Description:

Intersex Nigeria is seeking a creative and socially conscious Media and Content Officer to serve as a key architect of our public narrative. Supporting the Communication Strategist, you will be responsible for humanizing our mission through powerful multimedia storytelling, strategic media relations, and high-impact advocacy campaigns. This role is about more than "posting"—it is about building empathy, driving policy change, and securing donor support through consistent, culturally sensitive, and visually compelling narratives across all digital and traditional platforms.

Requirements:

1. Narrative Architecture & Content Management

  • Multichannel Storytelling: Craft compelling written, visual, and multimedia content (blogs, infographics, videos) that translates Intersex Nigeria’s programs into stories of impact and resilience.

  • Digital Ecosystem Governance: Manage and grow our presence on Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn, ensuring a high-engagement "feedback loop" with our community.

  • Web Stewardship: Maintain the organization’s website as a dynamic hub for fresh, SEO-optimized content and advocacy resources.

2. Strategic Advocacy & Media Relations

  • Media Liaison: Build and maintain a network of journalists and editors to secure ethical and accurate media coverage of intersex issues in Nigeria.

  • Campaign Design: Support the execution of call-to-action campaigns designed to drive donations, volunteerism, and legislative advocacy.

  • Brand Integrity: Enforce strict brand guidelines to ensure that all messaging—from newsletters to brochures—remains consistent, dignified, and aligned with our mission.

3. Analytics, Impact & Internal Synergy

  • Performance Metrics: Utilize Google Analytics and social media insights to track campaign reach, engagement, and conversion, adjusting strategies based on data.

  • Internal Capacity Building: Collaborate with program teams to document field activities and train staff on effective storytelling and ethical media handling.

  • Impact Reporting: Develop comprehensive reports for stakeholders that highlight the tangible outcomes of our communication efforts.

Qualifications and Skills:

Technical Mastery & Experience

  • Multimedia Expertise: Proficiency in graphic design and video editing using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or CapCut.

  • Digital Marketing IQ: Solid understanding of SEO, social media algorithms, and Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress).

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences (donors, policymakers, and beneficiaries).

Core Competencies

  • Cultural Sensitivity: A deep understanding of human rights, gender diversity, and the specific challenges faced by the intersex community in Nigeria.

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate data insights into improved content strategies.
