Job Description:

We are seeking a disciplined and proactive Logistics Assistant to join our Abuja team. This role is essential for the smooth movement of our personnel, assets, and documentation. You will be responsible for maintaining our fleet in peak condition, ensuring total compliance with travel policies, and facilitating the efficient delivery of materials to various project sites.

The ideal candidate is someone who prides themselves on punctuality, vehicle safety, and the ability to represent the organization’s values while interacting with partners and staff.

Requirements:

Vehicle Maintenance & Management

• Daily Inspections: Conduct routine checks and cleaning to ensure vehicles are equipped with the necessary tools and are in proper working order.

• Fuel & Logs: Manage refueling via approved vouchers and maintain real-time accuracy in the vehicle movement logbook.

• Safety Protocols: Adhere to a strict 6:00 PM parking deadline at designated locations and ensure all after-hours travel is formally authorized.

• Incident Reporting: Provide immediate reports to the Logistics & Facility Officer regarding any accidents or mechanical issues.

Transportation & Asset Security

• Staff Transit: Safely transport TAF Africa personnel and designated guests to instructed locations with approved vehicle request forms.

• Logistics Ferrying: Deliver goods and project materials to various offices, ensuring zero loss or damage during transit.

• Safety Equipment: Verify that all vehicles are stocked with essential safety items, including fire extinguishers, first aid boxes, umbrellas, and maps.

• Asset Protection: Ensure that TAF Africa property is never left unattended in a parked vehicle.

Administrative & Support Services

• Document Dispatch: Manage the secure delivery of documents between the organization and external service providers.

• Performance Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly maintenance reports for your allocated vehicles.

• Stakeholder Interaction: Act as a professional point of contact, utilizing a basic knowledge of the organization’s mission to direct visitors to the appropriate departments.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent; higher qualifications in logistics or administration are an advantage.

• Experience:

  • Proven experience as a professional driver or logistics assistant.

  • Familiarity with the Abuja road network and surrounding project areas.

• Technical Skills:

  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.

  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate written logs and monthly reports.

• Core Competencies:

  • Compliance: Strict adherence to motor vehicle and travel policy provisions.

  • Integrity: High level of accountability for fuel usage and asset security.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build positive working relationships with managers, staff, and partners.
