Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and integrity-driven KYC and Onboarding Assistant to anchor our customer acquisition pipeline. In the modern financial landscape, success is defined by "Verification Integrity", the ability to seamlessly onboard legitimate customers while maintaining a high-frequency barrier against fraud, money laundering, and identity theft. This role is designed for a "Compliance Steward" with 1–3 years of experience who can blend "Analytical Grit" with the "Regulatory Precision" required to uphold Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards.

Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Friction Onboarding and Total Compliance Alignment." You will be the primary gatekeeper of our customer database: responsible for identity verification, document validation, and the escalation of suspicious applications. If you possess "Exceptional Attention to Detail," a background in Fintech or Banking Operations, and the ability to handle confidential data with absolute integrity, we want you to drive our operational safety.

Requirements:

1. Identity Governance & Onboarding Orchestration

  • Verification Excellence: Collect and rigorously review government-issued IDs, proof of address, and corporate documentation to confirm customer legitimacy before account activation.

  • Onboarding Stewardship: Guide new customers through the onboarding journey, ensuring all required information is captured accurately in the system without compromising regulatory speed.

  • Information Fidelity: Actively follow up with customers to resolve missing or inconsistent documentation, maintaining a professional and supportive communication tone.

2. KYC/AML Vigilance & Risk Detection

  • Pattern Recognition: Conduct comprehensive Know Your Customer (KYC) checks to identify incomplete, inconsistent, or suspicious applications that may indicate financial crime.

  • Compliance Escalation: Promptly report discrepancies or high-risk profiles to the Compliance Manager, ensuring that potential threats are mitigated before they enter the institutional ecosystem.

  • Regulatory Adherence: Maintain a deep, updated knowledge of Nigerian KYC/AML regulations to ensure all onboarding procedures align with current legal frameworks.

3. Data Stewardship & Audit Readiness

  • Record Integrity: Maintain organized, encrypted, and easily retrievable digital records of all customer onboarding files to support internal and external audits.

  • Database Maintenance: Update customer profiles in real-time when information changes, ensuring the "Single Source of Truth" remains accurate for the Compliance team.

  • Confidentiality Governance: Handle sensitive personal and financial data with the highest level of discretion, adhering strictly to data protection policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Banking, or a related field.

  • Experience: 1–3 years in KYC, customer onboarding, or banking operations. (Fintech or Microfinance experience is a significant advantage).

  • Technical Mastery: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with digital onboarding or CRM platforms.

Core Competencies

  • Analytical Grit: Strong ability to spot fraudulent documents or subtle inconsistencies in customer data.

  • Communication Mastery: Excellent interpersonal skills to handle customer inquiries regarding sensitive documentation requirements.

  • Organizational Prowess: Ability to manage high-volume onboarding queues while maintaining surgical attention to detail.
