Job Description:

  • The Instrumentation Engineer supports the Maintenance Manager in planning, executing, and supervising all instrumentation and control system maintenance across the depot/terminal.
  • The role ensures availability, reliability, and optimal performance of instrumentation equipment, control systems, metering systems, sensors, and safety devices.
  • The role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of all instrumentation and control system maintenance activities in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve faults on instrumentation devices including sensors, transmitters, flow meters, level gauges, automated valves, PLC/DCS systems, and control panels.
  • Carry out preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on all instrumentation equipment.
  • Maintain and calibrate instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability of readings according to standards and OEM recommendations.
  • Ensure full compliance with the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule for all instrumentation and control systems.

Requirements:

  • BSc / HND in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC systems and accompanying electronics.
  • Professional certifications in Instrumentation, Automation, or Control Systems, Coren HSE Level 1-3 (added advantage).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in depot operations.

 

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation and control systems.
  • Proficiency with PLC, SCADA, and control system architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of PTW, LOTO, JHA, and WMS.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.

 

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance.
