Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Officer to join our manufacturing facility in Sango Ota. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a culture of safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating workplace risks to protect our employees and operational environment. Requirements:
Policy Development: Develop and strictly enforce health, safety, and environmental policies tailored to factory operations.
Risk Mitigation: Conduct consistent workplace inspections and thorough risk assessments to proactively identify and eliminate hazards.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all factory activities meet local safety regulations and international industry standards.
Safety Training: Design and facilitate engaging safety training sessions, regular toolbox talks, and comprehensive awareness programs.
Incident Management: Lead the investigation of workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, providing detailed reports and actionable preventive solutions.
PPE Oversight: Monitor the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to maintain high safety standards.
Documentation: Maintain meticulous HSE records and prepare reports for necessary audits and inspections.
Emergency Preparedness: Coordinate effective emergency response procedures, including fire drills and evacuation planning.
Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors.
Safety Culture: Champion a proactive safety culture across all departments to minimize operational downtime and accidents.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: BSc or HND in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience in an HSE role, specifically within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Certification: Professional certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are highly desirable.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of occupational health and safety regulations applicable to manufacturing in Nigeria.
Skills: Exceptional communication and training abilities; proficiency in reporting, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation.
Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
