Job Description:

Health & Safety:

  • Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules, permit-to-work systems, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor use of PPE and ensure availability and compliance.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness, drills, and response activities.

 

Environmental Management:

  • Monitor environmental aspects such as waste management, effluent discharge, emissions, and noise control.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws, permits, and company standards.
  • Promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices within operations.
  • Report environmental incidents and coordinate corrective measures.

 

Training & Awareness:

  • Conduct HSE inductions for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Organize regular safety trainings, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
  • Promote a strong safety culture among employees and contractors.

 

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with statutory HSE regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain HSE records, reports, inspections, and audit documentation.
  • Support internal and external HSE audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies when required.

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Reduction in accidents and incidents
  • Compliance with HSE standards and regulations
  • Timely closure of corrective actions
  • Effectiveness of safety trainings and awareness programs

Requirements:

  • Minimum of OND / HND / BSc in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional HSE certification is an added advantage.
  • 2–5 years HSE experience in manufacturing, industrial, or agro-based industries.
