Job Description:
We are seeking a highly competent, result-oriented, and principled Head of Procurement and Inventory Management to join our dynamic team at Nile University. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for optimizing our end-to-end procurement processes and inventory management systems. If you are a seasoned supply chain professional with a track record of driving cost-effective practices, maintaining optimal stock levels, and upholding the highest standards of professional integrity, we invite you to lead our efforts in supporting the institution’s long-term financial and operational objectives.
Requirements:
Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the institution’s goals, focusing on cost-saving opportunities, process efficiency, and sustainable practices.
Vendor Management: Cultivate and manage robust relationships with suppliers. Negotiate favorable terms and agreements, and conduct regular vendor assessments to ensure high performance and reliability.
Operational Excellence: Oversee the full procurement cycle—from initial requisition to final delivery—ensuring strict compliance with institutional policies, laws, and regulations. Implement best-practice e-procurement systems where applicable.
Inventory Optimization: Design and execute efficient inventory management methods to analyze turnover, mitigate risks related to slow-moving or obsolete stock, and maintain optimal inventory levels.
Financial Collaboration & Risk Mitigation: Partner with finance teams to manage procurement budgets effectively. Proactively identify and mitigate procurement-related risks while ensuring institutional compliance.
Leadership & Reporting: Lead and mentor a team of procurement and inventory professionals. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular, data-driven reports to senior management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of cognate experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
Technical Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, industry best practices, and current market trends.
Proficiency in procurement software and advanced inventory management systems.
