Job Description:

We are seeking a visionary and technically rigorous Head of Technology to lead the architecture, engineering, and AI strategy for the AISHA platform. This is a critical senior leadership position for an individual who is passionate about the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthcare accessibility in Africa. You will not only define the technical roadmap but also build and mentor a world-class team to deliver high-performing, secure, and clinically accurate health-tech solutions. Requirements:

• Technology Strategy: Define the long-term technology vision and architectural roadmap, balancing innovative AI integration with robust, scalable infrastructure.

• AI & Product Innovation: Oversee the development of core models (NLP, diagnostic reasoning, health recommendation engines) and lead the integration of LLMs with a focus on responsible, bias-mitigated, and clinically sound deployment.

• Engineering Excellence: Recruit, mentor, and lead a cross-functional team of engineers and data scientists, embedding agile practices, CI/CD pipelines, and high documentation standards.

• Infrastructure & Security: Own the platform’s reliability, scalability, and performance while ensuring stringent compliance with the NDPR (Nigeria Data Protection Regulation), HIPAA principles, and global health data governance frameworks.

• Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the technical voice for AISHA, collaborating with clinical advisors, business leads, and investors to ensure technology effectively drives health outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Required). A Master’s in AI, Health Informatics, or an MBA is preferred.

• Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Proven track record in scaling AI or data-driven products (HealthTech background is a significant advantage).

  • Experience navigating African market constraints, such as mobile-first and low-bandwidth environments.
