We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

• Dangote Cement Plc is in search of a Head of Mines to lead its mining operations. 
• The Head of Mines will manage all facets of mining operations, including safety, exploration, production, and logistics, to ensure that objectives are achieved effectively and economically.
• Moreover, the ideal candidate will be tasked with supervising a substantial team of mining experts while promoting a culture centered on safety, innovation, and ongoing improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement short and long-term mining strategies aligned with the overall business objectives
• Oversee the exploration, development, and production of mining operations across the company's various sites and ensure that targets are met safely, efficiently, and within budget
• Establish and manage productive relationships with stakeholders, including regulators, contractors, and local communities, to ensure the smooth operation of mining activities
• Develop and implement stringent safety and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure the safety of all employees and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Implement robust systems and procedures for inventory management, supply chain management, and logistics to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of mined materials
• Manage a large and diverse team of mining professionals and provide mentoring, coaching, and training to ensure their continued growth and development
• Provide regular reports to senior management on mining operations performance, issues, and opportunities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mining or Geology Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 25 years' experience in the mining industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role
• Extensive knowledge of mining operations, including exploration, production, and logistics
• Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate diverse teams
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex mining strategies and plans
• Knowledge of mining regulations and best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
