Job Description:
- The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the principal executive leader of FintechNGR, responsible for providing strategic, commercial, and operational leadership.
- The CEO will translate the Governing Council’s vision into measurable outcomes, ensuring sustainable growth, ecosystem impact, and institutional excellence.
- The role requires strong executive presence, stakeholder influence, and the ability to position FintechNGR as the leading voice of Nigeria’s fintech ecosystem.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting Line:
Reports to: President / Governing Council
- Direct Reports: Directors across Membership, Advocacy & Programmes, Learning & Professional Services, Innovation & Technology3. Strategic Leadership & Execution
- Lead the execution of the Association’s strategic agenda (PIE: Participation, Innovation & Expansion).
- Translate strategy into annual corporate plans, KPIs, and measurable deliverables.
- Ensure alignment between Governing Council priorities and Secretariat execution.
- Drive long-term institutional sustainability and industry relevance.
Commercial & Financial Leadership:
- Develop and execute revenue growth strategies across membership, events, training, partnerships, and digital products.
- Ensure financial sustainability through diversified income streams.
- Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and performance monitoring.
- Drive profitability and ROI across all programs and initiatives.
Stakeholder & Ecosystem Leadership:
- Serve as the primary representative of FintechNGR to regulators, government, and global stakeholders.
- Build strategic partnerships across fintechs, banks, investors, and development institutions.
- Lead high-level policy advocacy and regulatory engagement.
- Position FintechNGR as a credible and influential industry voice.
Membership Growth & Value Creation:
- Drive aggressive membership acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies.
- Enhance member value through advocacy, networking, research, and business opportunities.
- Develop executive-level engagement programs and Communities of Practice.
- Ensure strong membership revenue growth and satisfaction.
Innovation & Digital Transformation:
- Champion innovation programs and ecosystem development initiatives.
- Drive digital transformation across membership and operations.
- Promote adoption of emerging technologies and data-driven decision-making.
- Develop partnerships that enhance innovation and ecosystem growth.8. Organizational Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performance Secretariat with clear KPIs and accountability.
Recruit, develop, and retain top talent:
- Establish a performance-driven culture with measurable outcomes.
- Ensure succession planning and leadership development.9. Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, policies, and regulations.
- Provide timely reporting to the Governing Council.
- Oversee risk management across financial, operational, and reputational areas.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ethical standards.

Requirements:
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 15 years’ professional experience with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles.
- Strong background in fintech, financial services, or technology ecosystems.
- Proven experience in revenue growth, stakeholder management, and strategy execution.
