Job Description:

We are seeking a high-velocity and strategically elite Head of Data Governance to anchor the informational engine of Moniepoint. In the hyper-scale financial operating system of emerging markets, success is defined by "Data Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize massive data lakes with the clinical precision required for Metadata Lineage, Automated PII Masking, and Domain-Driven Stewardship. This role is designed for a "Technical Architect" with 9+ years of leadership experience who can blend "Engineering Grit" (SQL/Python auditing) with the "Influential Agility" required to lead a cross-functional "Hub and Spoke" community of Data Stewards.

Requirements:

1. Framework Orchestration & Roadmap Governance

• Strategy Sovereignty: Develop and execute a long-term Governance Roadmap that aligns with the mission of building a financial OS, ensuring every byte acts as a "Source of Reliable Insight."

• Operating Architecture: Define a domain-driven structure to clarify data ownership, acting as the primary "Source of Accountability."

• Policy Stewardship: Author global standards (Privacy, Retention, Naming) that are "Regular Guy" friendly yet technically rigorous, providing the "Strategic Foundation" for 13M+ users.

2. Technical Resilience & Automation Logic

• Platform Sovereignty: Select and manage elite governance platforms (e.g., Atlan, Collibra, Purview), ensuring "Zero-Friction" integration with the data lake.

• Metamodel Architecture: Configure tools to link business terms to physical assets, creating a transparent Data Lineage that serves as the "Source of Truth."

• Automation Stewardship: Partner with Data Engineering to implement "Governance-as-Code," utilizing Python/API expertise to automate quality checks and PII masking.

3. Cultural Integrity & Risk Power

• Stewardship Sovereignty: Lead and certify a "Data Governance Academy," empowering decentralized stewards to operate with a unified, gold-standard approach.

• Reporting Architecture: Build high-fidelity "Data Health Dashboards" for the Executive team, providing the "Analytical Foundation" for data reliability.

• Literacy Logic: Drive a cultural shift toward data appreciation, utilizing Change Management expertise to optimize the "Source of Organizational Intelligence."

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Experience: 9+ years of leadership in Data Governance, Engineering, or Strategy within high-growth tech environments.

• Technical Mastery: Advanced SQL and Python skills; ability to audit platforms directly and work with APIs for automation.

• Architecture Expertise: Deep knowledge of Data Mesh, Data Vault 2.0, and modern cloud data stacks.

• Regulatory Proof: Intimate familiarity with NDPR, GDPR, and fintech-specific compliance.
