Job Description:

The General Manager, Manufacturing will provide strategic and operational leadership for the company’s manufacturing activities, overseeing factory commissioning, production, quality assurance, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will play a critical role in building a high-performing manufacturing operation that delivers operational excellence, product quality, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

Requirements:

• Lead the commissioning and start-up of the manufacturing facility.
• Direct all production activities across water, bakery, and snack production lines.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and cost optimization.
• Ensure compliance with NAFDAC, SON, GMP, GHP, HACCP, and other applicable regulatory and food safety standards.
• Oversee Quality Assurance, Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) functions.
• Develop and implement production plans, budgets, and key performance indicators.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing manufacturing team.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, reduce waste, and maximize equipment performance.
• Prepare and present periodic operational and performance reports to executive management.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Food Science & Technology, Production Engineering or a related discipline.
• A Master’s degree (MBA or MSc) will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in food or beverage manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in factory commissioning or manufacturing start-up projects is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, quality management systems, preventive maintenance, supply chain management, and food safety standards.
• Proven leadership, strategic planning, and people management skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making abilities.
