Job Description:
We are seeking a high-integrity Fleet Officer to serve as the operational custodian of our mobile assets in Wuse, Abuja. In a high-demand logistics and transport environment, fleet reliability is the primary driver of service delivery. This role is designed for a "Technically Savvy Logistics Professional", someone with 2+ years of experience who can blend administrative oversight with practical mechanical skills to ensure 100% vehicle uptime.
Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Breakdown" operations. You will be responsible for the entire fleet lifecycle: from managing driver schedules and fuel consumption to supervising preventive maintenance and performing minor mechanical diagnostics. If you possess a "Hands-On" mindset and the professional grit to manage fleet costs and compliance in the heart of the FCT, we want you to lead our logistics team.
Requirements:
1. Fleet Maintenance & Mechanical Oversight
Predictive Maintenance: Develop and enforce a rigorous preventive maintenance schedule for all vehicles, ensuring that routine servicing occurs before failures happen.
Technical Diagnostics: Utilize your mechanical skills to perform initial fault assessments, supervising external mechanics to ensure repair quality and cost transparency.
Asset Uptime: Monitor vehicle health daily to minimize "Off-Road" time and maximize the availability of the fleet for operational tasks.
2. Logistics Administration & Cost Control
Fuel & Expense Management: Implement strict monitoring of fuel consumption and operational expenses, identifying and eliminating leakages or unauthorized usage.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure 100% adherence to FCT and national road regulations, including updated vehicle papers, insurance, and driver licensing.
Driver Management: Supervise and coordinate drivers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, efficient routing, and professional conduct.
3. Performance Reporting & Data Integrity
Fleet Analytics: Maintain a digital log of all vehicle activities, mileage, repair history, and associated costs for management review.
Inventory Control: Manage the procurement and storage of essential spare parts and consumables (oil, filters, tires) to avoid procurement delays.
Reporting: Prepare weekly fleet performance summaries, highlighting fuel efficiency and maintenance trends.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a Fleet Management or similar logistics role.
Technical Edge: Possession of mechanical skills is considered a major competitive advantage for this position.
Education: Candidates should possess a relevant tertiary qualification.
Core Competencies
Logistics Grit: Strong ability to coordinate multi-vehicle operations and handle high-pressure scheduling.
Integrity & Accountability: A "Zero-Tolerance" approach to fuel theft, unauthorized vehicle use, or subpar maintenance work.
