About Company:
Jamub Group of Companies is a diversified Nigerian conglomerate with active operations in construction, engineering, fintech, Oil & Gas, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), and agribusiness. Our Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) division manages a growing portfolio of residential estates, institutional buildings, industrial parks, and road infrastructure projects across multiple states.
Job Description:
We are seeking a technically astute and operationally disciplined Fleet Manager to serve as the principal guardian of the Jamub Group’s construction assets. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our heavy-duty fleet—including trucks, concrete mixers, excavators, cranes, and graders. This is a high-stakes leadership role where your ability to minimize downtime, enforce rigorous maintenance, and control costs will directly dictate the pace of our infrastructure project delivery. If you are a results-oriented engineer with a deep passion for heavy equipment and a track record of driving operational efficiency, you are the leader we need.
Requirements:
Fleet Deployment & Utilization: Command the master deployment schedule across all active project sites. Ensure every piece of heavy machinery is positioned to meet project demands, eliminating idle time and maximizing asset output.
Preventive Maintenance & Breakdown Control: Design and enforce a strict preventive maintenance regime. Implement a rapid-response breakdown system, track Mean-Time-To-Repair (MTTR), and ensure all mechanical interventions are documented, audited, and completed to the highest safety standards.
Cost & Fuel Stewardship: Manage the fleet operating budget with precision. Implement a robust fuel management system to eliminate pilferage and waste. Monitor cost-per-km and cost-per-machine-hour, identifying and rectifying cost overruns in real-time.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance for all assets, including registration, roadworthiness, and insurance. Maintain a strict compliance calendar and lead quarterly physical audits of the entire fleet.
Performance Reporting: Serve as a key data provider for the PMO project dashboards. Deliver clear, accurate weekly and monthly performance reports to the Technical Director covering utilization, maintenance adherence, and financial health.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: B.Sc, B.Tech, or HND in Mechanical, Automobile, or Civil Engineering.
Professional Certification: NSE or COREN membership is preferred; CILT certification is a significant advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years in fleet/plant management, with at least 4 years specifically managing heavy construction equipment within a large-scale infrastructure company.
